Nebraska → New York → Florida

I run the back office, and I keep starting things.

Finance and operations leader, systems person by instinct, community builder by habit, and lately the one writing the software too.

Run thin where you can. Take big, brave bets where you must.

The short version

I grew up in Nebraska, moved to New York City in 2007 on a whim, and spent a decade there as a data analyst turned community builder turned operations leader. I founded NYTechWomen, then Bella Minds, then found my way into the kind of work I'm best at: being the person who makes a mission actually run.

For the last five years I've been Director of Finance & Operations at a criminal justice nonprofit, where I scaled HR from about 20 people to 150, supported roughly $150M raised, stewarded about $90M in cash, owned the budget, and staffed the finance and audit committees. Now I live in Florida with my partner, my twin stepkids, and a Cavalier named Bruce.

I don't fit neatly in one box. I can build a financial model, teach a teenager to drive, quilt, sew a stocking out of pineapple fabric, walk 500 miles across Spain, and ship a website in an afternoon. I've stopped apologizing for the range. It's the whole point.

How I work, in other people's vocabulary

I like assessments for the mirror and the shared language, not as fortune telling. Mine line up remarkably well with each other.
